    The key to understanding this poem is to closely recognise the speakers.
    In stanza one there are two established speakers lily and violet
    lily is the speaker in stanza one
    stanza 2 violet is the speaker
    stanza 3 violet is the speaker
    stanza 4 lily is the speaker who oddly is male
    knowing who speaks what dialouge will make one further appricate this poem by this amazing poet
