on We Are Accused Of Terrorism by Nizar Qabbani, on April 3, 2005A poem that still rings as true as when it was written. The last two stanzas in particular hit home, and hit hard. About Palestine, obviously, but never stated, yet it has overtones of more recent US imperialism.

on Eleu Loro by Sir Walter Scott, on May 30, 2004Don't write them like this any more. A great, tender dirgeful lament. You can hear the keening on the wind.

on Rosalie's Good Eats Cafe by Sheldon Allan Silverstein, on May 30, 2004Awesome stuff. As usually happens I was looking for another poet (Stephen Spender - unusually one not among OldPoetry's voluminous archives) and came across old Shel again. Fantastic! But I doubt his work is in the public domain!
