They are wonderful on ice skates. I recently visited Canada and it was summertime so I wasn't able to enjoy the ice skating experience but would love to.
Nobody works on Sunday...sounds like Germany. I lived there for 2 years and it seemed Sunday was the day to bathe and relax. It was interesting but I never did really get into the bathing on Sunday deal...I like to bathe, every day!
I had no idea of the number of deaths in Chicago either though if I had I would have been extra careful when I was visiting there at the age of 14. I was running with my friends here and there never thinking I could be struck by a vehicle at any moment. I guess I was just lucky.
I like this write also. aimee jo

  • on Captives by Ernest Hemingway, on May 20, 2004
    Bravo
This hits home for me because of my ancestors. Geronimo, Naiche and my grandmother, all courageous Apache's. I have read of the way my grandmother was born into captivity. A Prisoner of War in 1910. Geronimo was a fantastic Warrior and well known for all of the good things he did for his people. There were of course, as with other Warriors, actions not so pleasant for us to think of but still...I admire him and admire my grandmother for living a full life accomplishing all that she did and being proud until she passed of her life, her heritage, and her family. Touching write for me. aimee jo

I know how it feels to be worried of spilling my guts to anyone about the way I feel and mouth being dry as hell until I get started. Seems once you get your foot in the door and release one comment they all just keep on flowing and by the end, yes drooling and slobbering all over the place to the point that you look back and say, uhh what happened?
I like it. Interesting lines. First I've ever read of Hemingway and I think I need to bookmark this for more reading in the future. aimee jo

  • on O, how sad by Saigyo, on May 19, 2004
Sometimes the wind is our only friend. It is sad, but part of life. aimee jo
