on A Red, Red Rose by Robert Burns, on January 26, 2006I love this. I'm not completely versed in Rabby Burns (which is the name I know him by), but I do know he's well known for writing in dialect. The Scottish dialect is quite close to my own dialect, which is called Ulster Scots, so I can understand what the guy's saying here.
Yay for Robert Burns!

on Sonnet XVII: I do not love you as if you were brine-rose, topaz by Pablo Neruda, on May 2, 2005I have searched and searched for this poem - finally I have found it! Woohoo! It's such a beautiful poem, and brings me to tears when I read the line "so close that your hand on my chest is my hand". Makes me think on my boyfriend....
