  • on Perhaps (To R.A.L.) by Vera Brittain, on August 9, 2006
Perhaps not brilliant or amazing though it is in a simplistic way. This stanza is especially poignant because it is that time of the year when we miss them most.

Perhaps some day I shall not shrink in pain
To see the passing of the dying year,
And listen to Christmas songs again,
    Although You cannot hear.'

    Desiree

  • I'm fairly certain that "Byron and Shelley and Keats" is the first line of the second stanza and if not, it should be. I can provide a link if you like.

  • on 40,000 by Charles Bukowski, on July 14, 2006
Vintage Bukowski. And an accurate observence of those around him though I think this poem is mostly about the horses and him doing what he loved. The rest is just a side dish.

  • on Freedom by Charles Bukowski, on July 14, 2006
I see I've already commented on this piece center justifying this poem makes it a little less enjoyable. I highly doubt Bukowski would ever center his poetry.
