- What's In a Name? at storywrite
Sound familiar to you? It should, it's a bit of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. I bet you could even finish the quote - hint - rose. - It's a problem. at storywrite

on The Australian Sunrise by James Lister Cuthbertson, on March 7I see this often, it never ceases to amaze me how purely clear and perfect are the sunrises in Australia.
Cuthbertson is much in the shadow of Lawson, Kendall and Paterson. He should be in the forefront of Australia's Poets. -
on Bell Birds by Henry Kendall, on December 15, 2007
I have heard the little Bell Bird,
I have heard it in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, it truly is one of Nature's finest creations. Henry Kendall was tuned to the land around him and the poetry around him that he became a quite solitary and maybe a rather sad man, dying at a rather young age. He left Australia a magnificent treasury of work. -
on The Christmas Beetle by Leon Gellert, on December 15, 2007
I have one bouncing now,
It's bouncing to and fro, hitting the walls and going for my screen, for all that I love them and their rich, green beetle coats. This one is nearly two inches long. They have sticky feet and are difficult to remove from clothing and my hair. They have a poor braking system which is as good as their direction finder! I love them anyway and they make Christmas special here in Australia. Leon Gellert wasn't exaggerating, they are just as he describes here.

It takes me back to many hikes with my trusty black Billy.
