Birgitte on May 11hello! I'm sorry to do ask you this, since I don't know you at all, but I'm having trouble accessing www.allpoetry.com. Could you maybe see if you can access it, so that I know if it's just my computer or if it's the website that's down?

on Non Sum Qualis eram Bonae Sub Regno Cynarae by Ernest Christopher Dowson, on May 9Dowson lead a short, tragic and decadent life (it was said that he was so pathetic that a kind-hearted prostitute let him stay with her). He wrote beautiful and effusive poetry.

on Richard Corey by Edwin Arlington Robinson, on May 9At one time one of the 5 or 6 best known poems by an American. Still a classic.
-
on Ozymandias by Percy Bysshe Shelley, on May 9A classic sonnet. "Ozymandias" is the Pharaoh Ramesses II

on XXI: Bredon Hill by A E Housman, on May 9Oh, I think that "Pari Ali"s conclusion of this poem is a total misreading. As we can see the narrator and his lover were going to be married, however, before they heard their wedding bells, he heard the funeral bell for his beloved....a most powerful and poignant poem.
