Welcome to Oldpoetry. I feel my timing was perfect as I had only added the poem by Wordsworth a short time ago, just in time for you to enjoy and make comment.
I hope you find many other poem and poets of interest amongst the Oldpoetry 'pages'.
    Regards,
    Von - Oldpoetry Team

Yes..by and by...This is such a powerful piece of writing, and yes, it IS long...but so profoundly moving that you cannot help but get swept up, cast down, and swept up again.
What a beautiful piece, always demanded by her fans when she did her reading...can you imagine..and her flair for theatre!!! WOW!! That had to be something to see!
Ms. Millay will always be one of my faovrites...no doubt..

  • I always find myself amazed by Longfellow. He is still one of my favorites fromlong ago. Thispoem has something different to it, the steady unceasing tide, coming and going, coming and going, and I really like that. I still think The Lighthouse and The Flowers are his best, but this is something I've never read before...Still a Master!!
