on I died for Beauty — but was scarce by Emily Dickinson, on February 1, 2004This is, I think, my favorite poem. Not just of Emily Dickinson's, but of all the poems I've ever read. Whether she was agreeing with Keats or making fun of him, I don't care. On this poem, you can look at it as a cynic or a true believer that Beauty is Truth. I personally think that what she's trying to say is that Truth is not always beautiful, because Death is Truth, and it's not beautiful. Anyway, I just love this poem - so much that I wrote a story inspired by it.
