    Not enough people seem to comment on Oldpoetry. Hmmm. I used to read this in the bible, the imagery is succulent if a little strange to modern tongues and minds... perhaps not all of these lines would be met by rapture if used to describe the beauty of the girl next door, particularly less so of a Queen!
    This poem has always filled me with questions, what happened to the little sister, did they continue to be happy, did she never mind being compared to goats and pillars?
    There is a magic to this, ancient magic, the verse throbs and glows with the thumping metre and delicious scenes.

    the tune is haunting and beautiful, it was sung to me by my mother as a very child, i could still remember a few of the lines despite not hearing them for twenty years or more! it is wonderful to find this long lost poem here...

    i'm trying to figure that out myself at the moment! ha ha. absoloutely beautiful poem. but maybe not free...erm there is a rhyming structure abcb in the two stanzas oh! i wish i knew more!
