on There’s Only The Two Of Us Here by Edward Harrington, on July 31, 2006For any Aussies who read this, Slim Dusty made a recording of this. He didn't sing it, he just recited it, backed by the occasional chord on his guitar. Lots of giggles in this one.

on How McDougal Topped The Score by Thomas E Spencer, on July 16, 2006I never HAD to study this one ... but I found it in one of my old school poetry books (think I would have been 11 or 12 at the time) and I learnt it by heart for my own pleasure. Like another comment below, 20 years later it's still with me. Perhaps this is the poem which influenced one I wrote on Allpoetry - The Day The Street Stood Still. Still a great yarn.

on The Ordinary Man by Robert W Service, on July 11, 2006
Excellent
"It is not necessary to do great works ... just do little works with great love." - Mother Teresa.
Not everyone can be extraordinary on earth, but to God we are ALL extraordinary - and it's the ordinary people who make the world run day to day. A very thought provoking poem.
