  • Who researched this?

    This tale was, of course, completed by Chaucer and is one of the best known of the Canterbury Tales. Not sure who's responsible for the posting of this misinformation...

    I've been here to read a few of Edgar before, and this one is no less amusing than the others in the lot. The colloquialism is beautiful any the patriotic theme still rings well in modern ears.

    "That won't keep us out of your 'en 'ouse"
    Said one, with a smug kind of grin;
    It's not for that purpose," said Balbus,
    "When it's done, it will keep you lot in."

    Beautiful...just beautiful. The way he told stories with verse, you'd almost think poetry was meant to be enjoyed. ; )
