  • on A Sunset Fantasy by Victor James Daley, on January 25, 2005
Nature is God's voice to us today. Daley realized this and played with the words in such elegance as to make is land on our hearts and ears like the sweetness God intended.

  • Longfellow is a truly historic treasure unequaled in his style. I spent hours as a child reading, not understanding, but reading for the pure lilt of the words as I drifted off to sleep...perchance to dream.

  • on The Nightingale by Jean de La Fontaine, on January 25, 2005
Things change very little I see. The only real change is acceptance or rejection of the same acts at differing times. I re-read this as if written today, it ALMOST worked.

  • on Yes, Atthis, you may be sure by Sappho, on January 25, 2005
Sappho is a new read for me, and his style is a bit different than most. However, he does have a vibrant usage of vocabulary =emotions, which is a true gift. I think I will read more of his works and see how truly great the old writers actually were.
