  • I really love the parts about time in this poem- I always get excited when I see "coffee spoons" mentioned in other works.

    I read this poem in American Literature class last year and loved it- I really like the point of view; Having a bystander tell the story rather than Richard makes the surprise ending more effective, I think.

    I love the way he says death and spring are "incomparable," but are "rhythmic lovers" nevertheless.
    This is my favorite nature poem- no matter how many people try to analyze it, it's still just spring!
