  • This is a poem as big or great as the reader's imagination or understanding; the author leaves no doubt of the reach, it is to all things but the messages are broken into ideas too: good and bad things, happy and sad things; big, useful and inportant things useless perhaps only small or sentimantal things all leave a trace of themselves in the world as memories as physical remnants...physical things and abstract things...all..and then the questions what of us? what of the unworthy things that seem to persist beyond the worthy things?... I think this is a great poem, and when i've read it again i think i will have learned or understood a few more residues...PK

  • And the roles we play in a society can be so different from that we might wish, captives to some great extent of the structures of things...I would not have war or ignorance of needy poor, yet i do just that, and deprive someone of food when i pay western prices for gasoline, there is much madness out there and much nmore lost opportunity, and we become inured to it all...a wonderful thoughtful poem here; full of subtlety and pointed use of words; a difficult translation to English done so very well...PK

  • on Music and Memory by John Albee, on June 23
yes, music can bring memories and feelings like few other things, pictures and words..the feeling of being near someone. And as time rolls on and people leave and come into our lives these feelings and music can simply overwhem a moment...so true...wonderful poetry here...PK

  • Quando os corpos passarem,
    eu ficarei sozinho

such strong sentiment here, war and loss, war and words used to justify; war and the loss of people we know... war and loss. And in the end we lose ourselves in war and the world seems to be drawn into it, the sky seems to be a victim..even the sky is a place of war; ver powerful sentiments all for the idea that people can be so much better than they are; we lose ourselves when we give up ...reason...PK
