on Scandalous Song by Migjeni, on July 14This is another amazing piece.I love it cause Migjeni is the only one (in Albanian poetry) that gives a dark feeling to his poems. The way he describes the nun is so detailed as she was standing in front of us.Again this poem speaks about life, problems, poverty and above all religion's falsity.

I love the imagery in this one.The poem depicts with Grey colors a sad, gloomy reality of Albania around 30'.Migjeni is known for his realistic prose and poetry, his dark tones, lamentable lines. The translation is perfect. This is one of my favorite Albanian writers.

on Lyric written in 1830 by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, on July 14One of my favorites so far.I've always like Russia and it's history and reading Pushkin is definitely great.I loved this.

on To The Albanian eagle by Ndre Mjeda, on July 13Ndre Mjeda is one of the greatest poets of Albanian Renaissance. The eagle is a national symbol, represents the strength and Albania/Shqiperia means the Country of Eagles. This poem is written at the time when Albania, this small country in south-eastern Europe was under Ottoman Domination. There are notes of patriotism, romanticism in this piece. In the last stanza he pleads to the Eagle to come one's more in their lands,to give them courage and freedom.
*Castriot the Great, known as George Kastriot Skanderbeg was one of the greatest albanian warriors at middle age, national hero too.In hard times like that, the poet tries to remind to his own people the "golden" times when they were a free nation.
Albania was under Ottoman domination for 500 years till 1912.
Great translation indeed.
