  • on Chaap Tilak by Amir Khusro, on June 9, 2007
Indeed. Beautiful song, isn't it? Khusro was a very very patriotic and secular poet. His secularism shows in this particular song. The chaap belongs to muslims and the tilak belongs to hindus. He uses both. "Chaap tilak sab cheeni". Beautiful! It is particularly enjoyable in the voice of Begum Abida Parveen.

  • on Mother To Son by Langston Hughes, on May 31, 2007
    Looks like free-verse to me.

  • on Philosophy by Nissim Ezekiel, on May 25, 2007
Yes, the flow of the poem is so beautiful. The spirituality, the ecstasy is felt. Beautifuly crafted poem. I've fallen in love with Ezekiel's poetry after reading this.

  • on If.... by Rudyard Kipling, on October 25, 2006
    Personal favourite.
