What a lovely tortured man. He writes so profoundly. Wonderful as always- Harper

  • on "We talked as Girls do —" by Emily Dickinson, on September 22, 2005
to me this poem states that she and another writer were close in context. Sharing pieces we write can be so solemn and fulfilling if it is with the right person. What I got from this poem is that the other subject(male or female) died or was swept away by lifes business. I love emily- and this is an extraordinary piece.

  • Dont we all lose ourselves a bit when we take on these roles??? Knowing about Emily Dickenson, I know this was not her fate for she was a hermit in some standards. I wonder if she longed for this as she sat at her windows, not wanting to draw the curtain back.......
