on NomenclatureWell this is delightfully abstract. I love the succinct form. I believe less is more. You did a wonderful haunting job with this write.

on Sonnet XVII: I do not love you as if you were brine-rose, topaz by Pablo Neruda, on August 8, 2003I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
Oh I like the metaphors you have chosen for this poem. Beautifully expressed.

What else can we say but exquisite.

I love some of the images she uses, especially that last trophe.
"She is used to this sort of thing.
Her blacks crackle and drag."
