Hello, Hello!

I love to read all sorts of stuff, when I have the time. I wish I could read more and expand my horizons, but I'm always so busy with school readings (I'm an English major )...so it's hard to go find the time to pick some of my own choices. Oh well, somewhere down the line.

Anyway...i'll keep this short and sweet! Poetry is the key to my soul.

  • Even though this poem was written such a long time ago, all of its words still speak loud and clearly for every century that has suceeded it. It's sad, but true.

I love some of the lines he uses, like "fraudulent fiend" and "Intemp'rance in drink, is the chief, as I think,
    Of his wiles"

  • "the vision of heaven fades and the
nightmare of loneliness has started" - i really liked these two lines and the contrast of something [good] ending and something [bad] beginning. The criss cross effect.

I wonder, [if anyone knows], who is the "hero" he is talking about?? total curiosiyt, really

  • i liked her playful use of words

"nobody heard him, the dead man"
you can't hear a dead man! so, he was alwyas dead, in a sense that he never could pull himself out of the deep waters which he swam in all his life, without those little floaties, figuratively speaking.

this piece always sticks in my mind when i hear a very pessimistic person stuck in the mud not wanting to get out.

    great piece!!!!!!!

    Wow!

the subtle romance and playful words he uses to express their intimate moments alone is so... what's the word?...magical...? i don't know, but he uses the right words to keep it still intimate between the two of them, but still enough to let his readers feel such passion between these two lovers.

    loved it!!
