on Cross by Langston Hughes, on March 5, 2006I absoultely LOVE Langston Hughes poetry! it's so strong and makes me proud to be black. I love the way his words push the envelop in a way...his words are so strong and filled with conviction.

Wonderful
This is such a great poem, and I wish I could have read it at my schools java jive, it would have shocked a few poeple. It is definately inspiring and makes me angry, sad and wonder....very strong and powerful. I love the last lines, " In the least way realized, they and I are civilized." So...wow, jaw dropping. The title is also very appropriate. -

I always get so choked up when the black issue is brought up, I'm an african american girl in an all white town, who are mostly ignorant....So when I read this, and notice you've done your homework, I have that much more respect for you! And I like the fact you used the pledge to conridict what this country does and says..
