    I am more a fan of Hemingways now than before, and I thought that was impossible.

  • oh charles, i know! He isn't poetic here, but he addresses something every writer undoubtedly deals with.. It is similar to thinking of a fantastically poetic line and running upstairs to write it down, and somehow you forget it. It is irreplacable but lost.

    I know that frustration, and Hemingway did too. But Buck's other poetry makes up for his loss, and I love the fact that he knows that. He has enough confidence to write something as unpoetic as this and not lose a single fan...

    he was such a crass poet- using contradictory phrasing to shed light on the everyday- love it -S-
