    John Ireland did a stunning musical setting of this. It's a wonderful poem. Some poems you can dance, some you can smell, but this is both. Though I always thought 'may not be denied' was a bit of a lame rhyme.

    Thanks for featuring this poem: a great surprise. He was very special. I recall 'Strawberry Moose' (moose with strawberries all over them) and moose doing impressions of cows (first impression, 1969). Jeez, he was good. God bless you Spike (and Peter Cook).
