Hi there...I need seriously help with the poem The sunlight on the garden. More to do with the linguistic part than the meaning of the poem. Not much information in this field about the poem just few things as the rhyme, etc. Thanks.

"I truly now why there is music in leaves,"

Beautiful poem...about knowing the simply joy of love, and how everything is related to it in one way or another.

  • "America for the Americans"

That is the Monroe Doctrine and though it was meant with the most noble of reasons (I assume)it been used to assert dominance in the region, and not always with noble intentions.

I know there are two sides to a story and this is just one, but I also my county and understand its sometimes overbearing ways.

Those in control have different motives than those under the yoke.

Thank you again to Mariza Góes for the translation of an author I knew nothing about until now.

  • Guerra was an interesting fellow. He wrote sacred poems like this one but also what some might consider pornographic works as well. And of course he was most noted as Brazil's greatest satirist. Thank you Mariza Góes for the translation.

I like your interpretation and yes, I can see other meanings in it too, but all centering around what is real and what only roars like a tiger, but with no real bite.
