    This is one of my absolute favorite poems by cummings. My English professor in my first semester of college read this to the class and asked us what it's about. It's about a man "breaking" in a virgin. This is an absolute work of genius, if I may say so myself.

    I'd have to disagree with your insight there, Wylf. I think lily is speaking in stanzas one and four. violet is the speaker in stanzas two and three. And please describe to me how you came to the conclusion that lily is a male. Though as fascinating the idea is, I really doubt it is so.
