  • on The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock by T S Eliot, on September 10, 2008
This is one my favorites by him. That is probably because it's the first poem that I ever read by him. lol

    I love the following lines:

In the room the women come and go
    Talking of Michelangelo.

    and

    I grow old … I grow old …
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.

First read this poem in middle school. I checked out Complete Poems and Plays: 1909-1950 from the library.

  • on As I Went by Adelaide Crapsey, on September 10, 2008
The repetition of the some phrases make an echo effect that fits with the idea of hearing death in each stanza. I like the message that she sent in this. This poem is creative.

  • on Amaze by Adelaide Crapsey, on September 10, 2008
The poem to me is about the narrator looking at her hands, and she remembering maybe an older female relative with hands like her own.

P.S. I am calling the narrator a she, and the speaker could easily be a he. lol

  • on The Starry Night by Anne Sexton, on September 10, 2008
Like everybody who posted before me, my favorite lines was:

Oh starry starry night! This is how
    I want to die.

This was so hopeless to me. A hurting soul crying out to the cosmos. It was beautiful how Ms. Sexton painted such an image in my mind. It won't be forgotten for a while.
