Who selects the poem to be promoted on AP?
http://oldpoetry.com/oauthor/show/Nikolai_Stepanovich_Gumilev is one of my four favorites here, and I'd like to suggest him.

Anyone can spotlight an individual poem on OP (AP is slightly different) by going to the poem page and clicking the link on the right hand side of the screen. You can also say why you are spotlighting it. We check the suggestions daily and add them to a display list. There are currently about a dozen awaiting their turn to become poem of the day.
Spotlighting poets is more difficult and is usually done by one of the mods writing a column about the poet and adding it to the store of columns here at OP. Often that is on an anniversary or a birthday or something similar.
Sometimes we add a poet on the message of the day that you see on the opening page.
If you wish to spotlight a poet then you can suggest one, as you did here, and hope one of the mods can put something together or you could, like errant panther did, write a column yourself on AP and then send me a link and I'll then try to get it copied over or at least add a link from the front page for a while. That's how column got onto the front page last week.
BTW I have spotlighted one of Gumilev's poems and it is sitting on the list waiting its turn.
Hope that answers the question.
Jim
