Just wondering what this poem (i cultivate a white rose) by jose marti was rfering to...is it to do with the cuban revolution???

According to the language of flowers web site http://www.pioneerthinking.com/flowerlanguagel-z.html
the white rose symbolises - Eternal Love ; innocence; heavenly; secrecy and silence.
I think it fits well with the poem.

"Cultivo una rosa blanca" does indeed refer to the Cuban Revolution — the revolution which Martí waged to gain Cuba's independence from Spain in the 19th century. That Revolution (1895-1898) was indeed waged without hate and consummated without revenge. Subsequent Cuban revolutions, unfortunately, do not fit that criteria.
