Some of my favourite poets have few to none of their poetry posted: Milton Acorn, Alden Nowlan, Al Purdy.. etc. If I wrote up some of their work as I was reading their books would it be possible to have it posted?

Yes it certainly would. I'll point Jim - [I-Like-Rhymes] in your direction and bring your wonderful offer to his attention.

Thank you.

How is the reading going?
Anymore details about Milton Acorn and Alden Nowlan perhaps?

Thank you for your offer.
We are always looking for assistance in enlarging the scope of Oldpoetry and your offer is enticing.
We would particularly like to see more Canadian poets represented here and would welcome your help with this.
As the name implies we concentrate on Old Poets. Poets who, alas, are no longer with us and whose work is no longer protected by the various international copyright laws.
From time to time we do post some of the newer poets but it can only stay if their work is public domain or they have given us express permission. Other work may be used because it is felt that the poet has made a significant contribution to the art and the work concerned is, as far as we can tell, unlikely to result in copyright problems but such work is clearly marked and we may be asked to remove it by the copyright holder.
Unfortunately there is a snag with the poets you mentioned.
Al Purdy (last published 1997) is, as far as I am aware, still living and so we would need his permission to post.
Alden Nowlan died on June 27, 1983 and Milton James Rhode Acorn died on August 20, 1986 and so it is more likely that the copyright holders would have no problems about any of their work we might publish here.
If you are still interested in helping out please get back in touch either via this Forum or an IM to I-Like-Rhymes and we will take it from there.

I am just reviewing the work here this year and wondered if you have discovered any more poems by the authors you mentioned that could be included on OLDPOETRY?
