Not only for Pasternak, but for other non-English language poets, 'twould be of immeaasurable value to include the original, even if it be in Cyrillic.

Maybe we could even have a link to a transcription of the foreign language for those not familiar in the original language of the poem.

Boris Pasternak was educated in Marburg, chose to study and write about Shakespeare and other European writers. Moreover, I think Russian is not Asian, despite their vast Asian holdings, but European. I beg to differ on your choice of category.

Your point about original language versions of a poets work is a perfectly valid one and, where we can, we endeavour to provide such a facility. However as our team is not large and the number of languages we read and write between us is similarily limited there are obvious difficulties.
Some of the team do post in original language and then provide translations but such work is limited by the time they can contribute. We are after all, all volunteers.
If we are aware of an authentic original language version we try to incorporate it either as text on site, a picture or a web-link.
Extra help in this is always appreciated and if a reader wishes to provide assistance I would ask that they contact me with details.
Meanwhile I hope what we do provide is useful and helps people to appreciate the work of other poets and encourages them to explore further themselves.
Finally I would concur in your categorisation of Pasternak as European in his education and his output and his notes have been adjusted. Thanks.

    It's a start!

    More in Cyrillic here http://thegreenbelt.blogspot.com/search?q=pasternak

I find it ironic that Pasternak himself worked as . . a translator!
