    Each time I read this I see a different interpretation. As a child all I could see was a devil...clouding the skies with his defiance, not a see a lost soul, desperately trying to gain entrance to the heavens. Perhaps it is an aging process, as poems do alter when read from a different aspect.

    Fallen angels perhaps? Headstone should read:" Here lies fallen angel with hairy armpits and sturdy calves"...as the Cobra raises her head from the tomb of doom. Strange poem, makes one wonder at the authors frame of mind at the time.
