  • on A Farmhouse on the Wei River by Wang Wei, on February 11, 2005
This poet has an uncanny way of bringing you INTO the "story". I'm sitting here thinking back on the days of when my life was much simpler... as a child... looking and doing. Wang Wei's skill is evident as he didn't lose the feel of the simplicity by writing about it either. It is all in tact.

  • on Haiku 02 by Masaoka Shiki, on June 19, 2004
This speaks at so many levels... besides the fact the tree that had given a recluse seclusion is now missing..... and the sun goes right through the window. Quaint scene...... how I miss a tree when cut.... this is a perfect example of a haiku with solid resonance...

Great contrast in this one. What an image.

I love the simplicity of this man. A zen monk master with the clearest of minds. No tricks... no games..... just perfect moment in time well expressed.
