    thhe wreck of the hesperus

    I had to learn this poem off by heart some fifty years ago at school

    I enjoyed it then and still do ,I can see in my minds eye the storm

    and the girl as described by Longfellow. It has helped me through

    many a long night

    i love the last line of the poem. it takes me back to school days, whwn the last line was read by us children with such gusto. I note Masefield wrote it the year i was born
