Dorothy Keeley Aldis

I lived from 1896-1966.

Dorothy Aldis was born on 13 March 1896, in Chicago, Illinois. She published her first book of poetry in 1927. It was written with young children in mind. During career she produced twenty-nine books, including children's poetry, biography, and adolescent literature. Her optimistic verse about the everyday lives of children pleases teachers and parents as well as children. After her death, Elementary English hailed her as the "Poet Laureate of Young Children.
