Edwin A Underhill was born in 1870; his family were prominent in the foundation of of Ruiton Chapel, one of them becoming its minister. The book of poems 'Patchwork' was printed in 1932, and nine years later he wrote and self-published the - for many years definitive - 'Ancient Manor of Sedgley' history book
