I lived from 1783-1810. I was from England, and am in the English category.
Princess Amelia, (August 7, 1783 - November 2, 1810) a member of the British Royal family, was born the youngest of King George III and Queen Charlotte's 15 children. Originally of a healthy constitution, she took ill around the age of 15 when she suffered the first of a number of illnesses. The remaining years of her life were filled with poor health.
According to Madame D'Arblay's diary (the novelist Fanny Burney) Amelia was a charitable young woman who understood the dignity of her position and always showed care for those around her and would remember sick friends in her prayers.
After her death George Villiers, the King's bailiff tried to blackmail the King and Queen with letters belonging to Amelia.
It was said that she was her father's favorite and upon her death his health declined, his nurse related "scenes of distress," and it is believed that her death hastened his insanity.
