Jeppe Aakjaer[yep´u Ok´yAr] was a Danish novel writer and poet, he was born on September 10 1866. As a young man he studied in Copenhagen, earning his living as a proofreader and later as a journalist. Most of his writings were about Jutland, where Aakjaer was from. He was known for writing on reflections of his apathy for the poor and decrepit and as well for describing their simple rural life.
At the age of 20, he was put in jail for speaking his mind freely in which the local Government Officials did not care too much for. He died in 1930 in Jenle.
