I lived from 1879-1958.
I was from Ireland, and am in the English category.
My poetry
A Piper in the streets to-day
Set up, and tuned, and started to play,
10 lines
Dark eyes, wonderful, strange and dear they shone
A moment’s space;
13 lines
I whispered my great sorrow
To every listening sedge;
19 lines
They have slain you, Sean MacDermott; never more these eyes will greet
The eyes beloved by women, and the smile that true men loved;
14 lines
My sorrow that I am not by the little dún
By the lake of the starlings at Rosses under the hill,
13 lines
From our hidden places
By a secret path,
54 lines
DEAR, they are praising your beauty,
The grass and the sky:
13 lines
