I lived from 1867-1958. I was from Czech Republic, and am in the European category.
I was influenced by poet Walt Whitman.
Peter Bezuc, whose pseudonym was Vladimir Vasek who worked as a postal worker while writing his poetry. Until he started using his pseudonym, he was largely unknown.
His main claim to fame did not however come until his publication of Silesian Songs, "Songs of Slezsko", Published in 1903, then reedited and published in 1909. This was a piece of some 88 verses, protesting the treatment of the Slavic people by the Austrians.
Bezruc was an admirer of Walt Whitman, but he followed no set school of style.
