Edward Farmer

I lived from 1809-1876. I was from England.

Little is known of this writer except that he lived in England from 1809 to 1876
He worked as a detective on the railways and was a writer who specialised in tragic tales, usually of infants dying in their mother's arms.
He wrote one of the most popular of the "child's-death" ballads; Little Jim. This was set in Polesworth, near Tamworth, and was typical of his melodramatic verse style.
