Dreams

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

This poem is short, sweet and true. We must how to our dreams, because they keep us alive with hope for tomorrow.

    one of his best

Langston Hughes is an old friend that I read again and again. His poetry is always fresh and clean, not to forget deep.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, worked at Karamu House Theatre for 9 years. Langston Hughes had an apartment in the old building at Karamu. I have communed with his spirit on many occasions. Glad you visited us here at AP and enjoyed his works. He was a literary genius!
