Give me your hand
Make room for me
to lead and follow
you
beyond this rage of poetry.
Let others have
the privacy of
touching words
and love of loss
of love.
For me
Give me your hand.

This is a very great poem. Sadly, when I was looking through the Graphite Magazine my school puts out once a year, someone had copied this poem, put changed lines 7 and 8. It really disapoints me.
It's still a wonderful poem

An out stretched hand is a most kind gesture, when one responds it forms a connection that is enhanced by trust. This simple poem by the great Dr. Angelou is an example of the openmindedness of the poet and their poetry. Excellent!

I think this poem talked about emotions and other poetry..it's just an introduction and cliffhanger to make others think with free speech, and sharing, just to understand one another. Interesting write though. It could be about a lot of things. Hmm.

very fly and touches the heart
i felt that the poem talked about the hardships and trials that are put into a relationship.you have to go on blind faith in a relationship so you never know what is gonna happen or when something bad comes next.it is a simple yet needs deep thought to understand. maya angelou is a very wonderful women and it is shown throughout her work to this day.i love you and thanx!!! -

I like the simplicity of this. How the meaning is complex yet in wording and formatting it is rather simple...Have to look beyond the wording

My first feeling about this poem: Words don't seem to be enough, perhaps too many already said. the physical touch is required. It's really lovely and Maya Angelou has so much soul one cannot help but be deeply touched by her.
