Faith is a fine invention

"Faith" is a fine invention
When Gentlemen can see —
But Microscopes are prudent
In an Emergency.

    Faith

    From guest Gayle (contact)
Faith based on belief is subject to change, such is the nature of beliefs. But if we want to know the truth of the matter than we have to apply some fine attention to the matter at hand. Looking carefully such as a micropscope does we search for truth, piercing through long held beliefs present in a cloudy mind we may eventually come to the truth.

Emily Dickinson expresses how she feels about the difference between science and religion. She writes in favor of science saying that, "but a mircoscope is prudent," in other words, science is wise. Later on she contridicts this. ITs a very understandably true poem.
