    I feel the second line would refer to 'white' in interpretation of 'snow' but not all places during that time has 'snow' I know where I live it hasn't snowed here in over 30 years and even when it did it wasn't on the ground for long -- the heat melted it away.

    But I know this is in reference to Basho's world, but still .. kind of one dimensional.

    The last line seems to be more of the haiku than not, I feel the last line encompasses the whole of the piece. A nice haiku that Basho has written here.

    Wind...monochromatic snow...solidtude...

    this is ridiculously simple...i do not think we must "dig" for the meaning here. i like this style.
