In A Back Alley

Remembrance for a great man is this.
The newsies are pitching pennies.
And on the copper disk is the man's face.
Dead lover of boys, what do you ask for now?

I don't find this to be about those who lost their childhood by selling papers on the street. I feel it is more on the 'man on the copper disk' than anything else. I feel this short piece is a question to the 'man' on the copper disk - the man on the penny. And then I feel it's also about society's outlook and the surroundings that inhabit around it and within it.

My impression and feeling of this piece by Sandburg.
