Go away girl, go away
and let me pack my dreams
Now where did I put those yesteryears
made up with broken seams
Where shall I sweep the pieces
my God they still look new
There's a taxi waiting at the door
but there's only room for you

As always I am amazed how much meaning and emotion Milligan can put into so few words. -
Another slightly strange one. The rhyming is effective.

I find no errors in this piece. It has a flow to it that seems it is going to be blissful but then at the end it just catches to you and you see a whole different shade to it. This is a great piece. Well worded.
I disagree with what Lisa said at the end of her comment: '...but his best works are his deep emotion packed poems.'
I feel, from reading the few poems that I have read so far that his best work is both. Because they 'both' open eyes and make one think. Make them see different 'shades'. It is both, not just one.

I love Spike Milligans serious poetry.... people sometimes forget what an established writer he is. They think he just writes humourous little short poems and nothing else, but his best works are his deep emotion packed poems.
