Birch Tree

The birch tree in winter
Leaning over the secret pool
Is Narcissus in love
With the slight white branches,
The slim trunk,
In the dark glass;
But,
Spring coming on,
Is afraid,
And scarfs the white limbs
In green.

    I get the jestful humor of this piece. Well, if there is jestful humor in it, I get that there is, but, that doesn't mean the writer meant it.

    It's such a short piece, but, it says so much in so few words. It gave me a mental image of the scenery in which it writes.

    It's a good piece by the author Tessimond.
