Dui Paatan Ke Beech Mein,Sabit Bacha Na
[Looking at the grinding stones, Kabir laments
In the duel of wheels, nothing stays intact.]
**
Bura Jo Dekhan Main Chala, Bura Naa Milya Koye
Jo Munn Khoja Apnaa, To Mujhse Bura Naa Koye
[I searched for the crooked, met not a single one
When searched myself, "I" found the crooked one]
**
Kaal Kare So Aaj Kar, Aaj Kare So Ub
Pal Mein Pralaya Hoyegi, Bahuri Karoge Kub
[Tomorrows work do today, today's work now
if the moment is lost, the work be done how]
**
Aisee Vani Boliye, Mun Ka Aapa Khoye
Apna Tan Sheetal Kare, Auran Ko Sukh Hoye
[Speak such words, sans ego's ploy
Body remains composed, giving the listener joy]
**
Dheere Dheere Re Mana, Dheere Sub Kutch Hoye
Mali Seenche So Ghara, Ritu Aaye Phal Hoye
[Slowly slowly O mind, everything in own pace happens
Gardner may water a hundred buckets, fruit arrives only in its season]
**
Sayeen Itna Deejiye, Ja Mein Kutumb Samaye
Main Bhi Bhookha Na Rahun, Sadhu Na Bhookha Jaye
[Give so much O God, suffice to envelop my clan
I should not suffer cravings, nor the visitor goes unfed]
**
Bada Hua To Kya Hua, Jaise Ped Khajoor
Panthi Ko Chaya Nahin, Phal Laage Atidoor
[In vain is the eminence, just like a date tree
No shade for travelers, fruit is hard to reach]
**
Jaise Til Mein Tel Hai, Jyon Chakmak Mein Aag
Tera Sayeen Tujh Mein Hai, Tu Jaag Sake To Jaag
[Like seed contains the oil, fire in flint stone
Your temple seats the Divine, realize if you can]
**
Kabira Khara Bazaar Mein, Mange Sabki Khair
Na Kahu Se Dosti, Na Kahu Se Bair
[Kabira in the market place, wishes welfare of all
Neither friendship nor enmity with anyone at all]
**
Pothi Padh Padh Kar Jag Mua, Pandit Bhayo Na Koye
Dhai Aakhar Prem Ke, Jo Padhe so Pandit Hoye
[Reading books everyone died, none became any wise
One who reads the word of Love, only becomes wise]
**
Dukh Mein Simran Sab Kare, Sukh Mein Kare Na Koye
Jo Sukh Mein Simran Kare, Tau Dukh Kahe Ko Hoye
[In anguish everyone prays to Him, in joy does none
To One who prays in happiness, how sorrow can come]
Notes
These Dohas or couplets are each complete in themselves and are the most famous of Kabir's poetry, there are many more and many of them are often quoted in India even now. There is profound wisdom hidden in each couplet and they reflect Kabir's way of expressing the most profound thoughts in the simplest words.

Not a Mistake
Dear DHAWAL YASH I have checked the records and have seen other authentic sources for the Dhoas according which this Doha is as "Aisee Vani Boliye, Mun Ka Aapa Khoye
Apna Tan Sheetal Kare, Auran Ko Sukh Hoye"
Kindly specify your source if you believe this is not the correct version of the Doha.

teach wisdom,
From guest KAANUPRIYA BASSI (contact)
Every dhoa teaches right way of living like in case of greed for property , too much of property ,insensible way is you are taking more than what god destined for you so that dosent pay and than we suffer building collapses, nature way of punishing, income of a household should be good to enjoy not too much excess,as that may be somebody else destiny share, if one has help the needy quietly, is gods wish. we can learn and live pious yet enjoyable life without doing sins.another dhoa teaches traet everybody equal, dont be proud, never speark loud and language that hurts speak in few words , if one has to suggest, unnecessarily dont suggest, wisdom of god as god is there for everybody.and the best doha is books teach us knowledge but nothing in life is above truth and love for fellowbeings, he says, good manners are important but good heart even more important, because he says as you sow, shall you reap, . We firmly believe each one of us should practice tthis wisdom, and the most important he says nobody is perfect, kabir said, when i went out to look for bad people i realised, i top them, applicable to all human beings. therefore, if you cant be friends , no need to create unnecessary enemity, go your ways, dont interfere, but if you plan to be friends, accomodate each other. all this will help us to stand bytruth, ofcourse intially one may feel weak but sticking to good ideals later make people follow you.another doha says, trust your guru, in modern times, the astrologer, but the one who is pious. another very nice dhoa of kabir ji, for instance the god and the teacher are both among you, whose feet would you touch first, the answer is teacher, he taught you good lessons about god. and most important, time is money , try not wasting it. but he says, you make your effort, result will come on time, be pateince, and positive, May God give me and fellow humanbeings the wisdom to follow in practice , the kabirji' word, AMEN! -

Kabir is one of the greatest Poet's ...I am still skeptical whether he was really human. Because he sayings are way above human mind. He tells us to live a good life but I feel really sad that none of us follow the great Guru in our daily lives.

Is there a doha of Kabir that says "if I get to god by worshipping a piece of stone, I would worship an entire mountain. It is better to make a mill out of stone so that people can have flour" (Patthar pooje hari mile ...). Can anybody help me get the full doha?
-
Very nostalgic "dohas". Reminded me of my school days and took me 20 years back in past. They still are so relavent and strong.

I am much loving of Kabir Doha's & Kabir Saheb philosophy

web page of Sant Kabir

This poetry talks about the truth in life. We are mostly living in our own little worlds unconcerned about the truth, that is why these dohas give such an out of the world experience.

Well Worth the Effort
My first exposure to kabir's poetry, and I am sorry to have waited so long, this is wonderful. For instance, to share the following alone could be amazing, patience, persistance, follow through, attention
"Slowly slowly O mind, everything in own pace happens
Gardner may water a hundred buckets, fruit arrives only in its season "
