I Have Found My Guru

I have found a guru in Raidas, he has

given me the pill of knowledge.

I lost the honor of the royal family, I

went astray with the sadhus.

I constantly rise up, go to God’s

temple, and dance, snapping my

fingers.

I don’t follow the norms as an oldest

daughter-in-law, I have thrown

away the veil.

I have taken refuge with the great

guru, and snapped my fingers at

the consequences.

From her childhood onwards, St. Mirabai worshipped her Divine groom and the Lord used come and dance with her in her innermost chamber. She was a born Gopi Saint though she mingled with her contemporaries, high and low to show the seekers the importance of Satsang.

I do not believe that Mirabai found her Guru in Raidas. It is just an assumption by the social frame of the mind that invariably a male figure of her time had to guide such a great soul.
She had also taken spiritual advice from Tulasidas, Raidas and other saints through Satsang.
But Mirabai always wrote in her poetry that her Guru is none else but Giridhara Gopala, Lord Krishna Himself.

Man, I still have that last piece I read still in my head and thus I read this as if I were drunk and happy. Tho, still, I found it to flow well.

This is a good piece none-the-less, sounds like comfort in ones own skin. Not taking jibes from anyone and being their own person.

The impression that I got from reading this piece and I may have read it wrong - it's possible.
