Do Not Leave Me

Do not leave me alone, a helpless woman.
My strength, my crown,
I am empty of virtues,
You, the ocean of them.
My heart's music, you help me
In my world-crossing.
You protected the king of the elephants.
You dissolve the fear of the terrified.

Where can I go? Save my honour
For I have dedicated myself to you
And now there is no one else for me.

    Amazing.

This was amazing...It was very well written & I didn't know what some of the words meant but that's okay because the parts I did understand were great. I can relate to this completely...when they tell you not to make someone your everything because when they're gone you've got nothing...it's true. But this was amazing. I loved it. ♥

"King of elephants?" That goes over my head there. This is an ok piece. I like the first stanza, the first few lines make perfect sense.

This is a devotional song, it emphasises the all encompassing nature of the God worshipped and the smallness and weakness of the devotee in comparison, it also emphasises the total dependency of the devotee on the Lord. Meera is nothing wihtout her Lord, she is helpless, it is the feeling many people have who have put their trust in God and who know that by themselves they are totally powerless. In this song Meera not only praises Lord Krishna but also beeseeches him, and expresses her love and dependency on him.
